His
parents always try to talk to him as well as signing so he is at
three totally bilingual ! I use Sign also but try to focus on
oral communication so as soon as I heard about Kindermusik we
joined the program. Knight attends the program with his mother
just like the other children and I attend as interpreter for
Brigit and Catherine. Catherine would include signs in some of
the activities and Knight is encouraged to sign for his Mother
and other children.
Knight
is now 31/2 and continues to love his Kindermusik class and
meeting his friends every week. Some of them have been together
since their first class and music class is a social event.
Knight
has a very lively imagination so he is especially enjoying the
present program, “ Imagine That ! Toys I Make Trips I Take.” as
he is encouraged to make good use of his imagination. He is also
very interested in trying to help Grandmas with everything ---
we are presently growing carrots at Grandma’s house. Knight
loves , music, books, airplanes, trains and anything fishy.
Since he first saw, “ Finding Nimo,” he loves to see any TV
shows or books about fish. The highlight for him right now is
Grandma’s DVD from the Maui Ocean Centre as it show all the
Hawaiian fish and has a pamphlet showing the fish so he can
identify the different species.
