What is Kindermusik and when can your child begin his/her musical education ?

About Kindermusik

Simply put, Kindermusik is a music and movement program. Each week in class, students will play, listen, and dance to music that will impact you and your child in profound ways. That's because every song, story, and two-step has a carefully chosen purpose in this creative curriculum—one that's designed to stimulate and strengthen the vital neural wiring taking place in your child's mind right now. A Kindermusik educator will guide you every step of the way so you know how each activity contributes to your child's overall growth and development.

Our child-centered curriculum incorporates ongoing, in-classroom studies with our more than 30 years of experience in music and child development. Plus, we've combined the best music learning methods found in Orff™, Kodaly™, and Suzuki™. Take-home books, instruments, and CDs from class let you take learning with you wherever you go while strengthening the emotional bond between you and your child.

So whether it's twirling under a sea of scarves, experimenting with age-appropriate instruments, singing about a scampering squirrel, creating a musical ensemble, or snuggling in your lap during story time, Kindermusik speaks your child's language and offers both of you the best music and movement class available.

Kindermusik will introduce your child to a musical world filled with singing, imitating sounds, creative movement, and instrument exploration. Musical experiences are a powerful stimulant, promoting development in all areas of the brain. These programs provide parents with the tools they need to stimulate their child's learning and promote social skills. Participation in the Kindermusik Program will promote healthy development in all areas, including cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and artistic/musical. Every Kindermusik lesson is developmentally appropriate, recognizes the uniqueness of the child, supports parental involvement, and honors the parent as the child's most important teacher. Every aspect of the Kindermusik program is based on the belief that every child is musical and that music is a powerful stimulant for a child's total development. The aim of the program is to "grow" musical children who are well adjusted in all areas of development, not create child musicians; therefore, it is process-oriented and not performance-oriented.
